Code Orange by Caroline B. Cooney

Mitty plans to be a rock concert reviewer so he really sees no use for the classes he is forced to take at school. Especially Advance Biology. When he is told that he had better do well on his project or be moved to another bio class, you'd think he would be happy. And he might have been if this hadn't been the only class he had with Olivia. At the family's country home, Mitty realizes that he has forgotten to get any books for his project and now is stuck with no book store and no library around. Fortunately, his mother has just received a collection of books that she will use to decorate some house but there are books that used to belong to a doctor. There must be something in there that Mitty can use. And sure enough, he finds so old medical books. In one of the books is an envelop that holds two scabs from an outbreak in 1902. After Mitty handles the scabs, he begins to think they might still be contagious. And after a little research, Mitty realizes he is dealing with smallpox. Will Mitty be responsible for bringing back a disease thought eradicated?

This book was very interesting. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

I found the book to be pretty good, but the end was too fast paced and made it kind of confusing to understand. I thought that the part about the terrorists being on the internet waiting for opportunities like the one Mitty gave them would be pretty scary in real life.

The book is pretty good. The middle is the best part of the book.Right when he starts to thinks that he has smallpox. The very end comes at you to fast.Over all its a very good book with lots of info about smallpox.

The book seemed really good but I thought that there would be more sources than they mentioned for the scabs from the disease. There was only 2 places whare you could find a source for the antidote/vaccine. Also the story was very exciting it kept you wondering what would happen next.

I though Code Orange was kind of a weird book scary evan.Being kidnapped and hit in the head loaded into a car and brought to a basment is not what Mitty had planed when he started his term paper. All he wanted to do was get a passing grade and stay in the advanced biology class so he could stare at olivia. Things change though.

I think code orange is a okay book. I would give it a rating of 6,although it had some interesting stuff. For example when Mitty was talking about Variola Major. I did not even know what it was until I read this book. I would not recomend Code orange to be read.

This was probrably one of the best books ive ever read. It is very exciting and scary but a wonderful book to read. There was alot of facts about smallpox and what people did about it many years ago.

I read the book right after it came out and it was really interesting until about mid-way to the end of it. To me it seemed really unrealistic how he had all those symptoms but there wasn't much wrong with him. I personally believe that Caroline B. Cooney left the book unfinished and i wasn't at all pleased with how it ended.
